Sample
Day 1
- arrive in Anchorage, Alaska; get your rental car (van), get your shopping done for necessary camping gear and groceries for the next few days
- relax and enjoy the evening getting to know your travel companions and spend the night in a B&B in town
Day 2
- have breakfast and drive to Girdwood-Chugach State Park (cca 60km)
- first moderate hike (Crowpass) to a lake and glacier
- try your luck with Gold panning and visit the Jade museum in Girdwood
- get settled in a tent or cabin close to Hope and try your first wild salmon fishing
Day 3
Whitewater Rafting
- one of the most exciting experiences! 20 km and three canyons through the wilderness will challenge you with class 3,4 and 5 rapids!
- relax or try more fishing in the afternoon
Day 4
- Drive to Homer (cca 200km) and stop by Russian River on the way where you can see salmon run and maybe even spot the bear fishing for them.
- Get some more food supplies for the upcoming kayaking trip into the middle of wilderness.
- Have a good night rest in our B&B in Homer.
Day 5
Good morning in Homer
- a charming little town nestled in the mountains of Kachemak Bay State park and the “Halibut fishing capital of the world”.
- Get your kayaks rented and hop on the boat that will take you to the other side of the Bay where the true Alaskan wilderness begins.
Day 6 – 8
Incredible sea kayaking among the Kachemak Bay delta rivers
- hiking and tracking to the peaks of grand mountains of Kachemak Bay State Park
- hike the Saddle Trail and spend the night camping right by the Glacier Lake
- Halibut or Salmon fishing. Option fly and see Grizly bears fishing for salmon (upon request)
- romantic nights around the camp fire on the beach
- in case of bad weather enjoy the comfort of the yurt nearby
Day 9
- water taxi back to Homer, check in and make yourself at home in our B&B (laundry and internet available)
- relax and unwind in one of the unique local pubs
Day 10
drive to Seward
- camping by the beautiful lake (relax, fishing, hiking if you feel up to it)
Day 11
- option of Kenai Fjords National Park glacier and whale watching excursion ($80.00-$135.00 pp) or a track along the Exit Glacier all the way up to the hardening fields (one of the most spectacular hikes)
Day 12
- drive to Talkeetna (Denali National Park) and camp overnight near by the large and beautiful lake (cca 350km)
- option of a scenic flight over Mt.McKinley with landing on a glacier (price from $200.00 pp)
Day 13
- visit Denali National Park with its wilderness, panoramic scenery and diverse wildlife
Day 14
- return to Anchorage, check in to a B&B, return the rental car, do some souvenir shopping, relax at the farewell party!
Day 15 – depart Anchorage
Day 16 - arrive in Europe
