Should you decide to spend the night on one of the secluded beaches. We rent large, high quality, stable sea kayaks with a storage space for your camping gear. You can also rent all the kayaking gear (paddles, spray skirts, life jackets, bilge pumps and sponges).
We arrange water taxi to the most beautiful and remote places in Kachemak Bay State Park. Picture paddling through the quiet water of the green bays, majestic bald eagles flying overhead and watching sea otters napping in kelp beds, seals playing and bears walking on the beaches. Like being in a National Geographic documentary, you can see all these animals in their natural environment.
There is enough protected water to keep you busy exploring for days. You can combine your kayak adventure with an overnight camping or hiking to the peak of one of the mountains and see the breathtaking views of the bay and forests. The Saddle Trail is very popular hike that takes you to the Glaciour Lake, where you can also spend a night and be picked-up the next day. Take warm clothes! If you feel more comfortable sleeping in a yurt or a cabin, rather than in a tent on the beach, we can arrange that too. Although nothing compares to a campfire on the beach with the smell of fresh salmon being baked and good beer after a long day of paddling while you are looking at millions of stars above, waiting for the Northern Lights to start their midnight show.
